Letter from the Executive Director

Summer 2019 Updates from Executive Director, Katie Sawyer

Happy summer!

On June 7 at our 19th Annual Grants Celebration we awarded our largest grants pool in SDWF history – over $243,000 in funding to five phenomenal organizations working to combat human trafficking in our community. Photos from the celebration are up on Facebook.

We have now begun our next grants cycle and we are accepting Letters of Inquiry for programs that provide basic needs and transition services to refugees, asylees and asylum seekers in San Diego County. See below for more details and a link to the application materials. If you know of an organization doing this work, please share! And if you know a woman who would be interested in joining SDWF as we tackle this critical issue, please invite her to join us as a member.

I am deeply proud of the commitment of SDWF members to take on the toughest issues facing vulnerable communities in San Diego County. To each and every member of SDWF: THANK YOU. Our community is stronger because of you.

Best wishes—Katie Sawyer, Executive Director
